The Fifty Ninth Poem- Echoes of Goodbye

Echoes of Goodbye One more taste, Another small bite, A little more longing, For moments going to go by. A sweet picture, A warming hug, A lasting goodbye, We hope neither turns out to be its last. Trunks of memorable belongings, Chunks of treasurable joys, Trails of familiar scents, We bury all of them behind. We hope for upcoming chapters, Yet long to relive some old ones By turning calendars and clocks, To sweet sand timers of the past days. We learn to see love in various forms, In different timelines and spaces; Time and again we call our strength, During times of peace as well as chaos. Time is fleeting, While joys fill in only moments; But memories last a lifetime, For all the seconds gone, passing and yet to arrive. -Jaanvi Veluguleti

The Fifty First Poem- My Haven

My Haven I used to come here for peace, The green trees and the quiet breeze Bring back all the lost memories; Oh, if I start, I can never stop with the stories. This place was my sacred haven, So precious and love-laden. During moments of contentment as well as grief, This place comforted me with hugs of peace. Visiting back today brought a few tears Of joy and longing for the previous years, The whispers of wind and the divine’s bliss Will forever be etched within me like chef’s kiss. My haven has witnessed transformative alchemies, It holds endless moments and memories That are eternally mine to relish; And to continue having this perpetual nostalgia is my forever wis...

The Twenty Third Poem- Holidays’ Reminiscence

Holidays’ Reminiscence I feel the boredom sinking in, The holidays are not quite how they used to be. There are no prizes or contests for me to win, It seems like the world has stopped for me. It was always a holiday thing, To wake up, even though a little late, And gather around with friends for playing; I cannot name better holiday moments to date. Until one day all of it went into oblivion, And gone were the days of games and fun, Of puzzles, hopscotch, and badminton; All these ancient joys mock back at me like a pun. Flashes of those moments still come to me, The songs, the scents, and the films of the holidays; There was no one to tell me how to be, And I still say, “Oh gosh! Those were the days!” I would collect shells from piles of sand, I would throw stones in little lakes, I would alertly wait for my grandma’s command, To open the oven and take out the cupcakes. Taking long strolls together, With no to-do lists in mind, Except for holiday homework to ruin the weather; These me...
