The Sixtieth Poem- Clearer Skies

Clearer Skies

How far have I come
From the scary nights
To these starry skies
And this magical glow?

It feels like a decade past
The bruises of the cold and the hot;
Never had I fathomed
That I’d suffer such a blow.

They say “pain’s inevitable
But suffering’s optional”;
But I didn’t know it, so I endured;
And now I only see daylight ahead.

Divine light encapsulates me,
And the past feels far away;
Leaving behind the less better days,
Now I go on, thoroughly done and dusted.

Fresh air waits for me,
And flowers greet me with their bloom;
Wonder and joy embrace me once again,
As I walk towards bliss with my hands free.
