The Thirty Second Poem- The Figuring Out

The Figuring Out I’m constantly learning, How to get going, All by myself, Without anyone’s help. I’m trying to figure out, Sometimes alone and other times by crying out loud, What to do in a circumstance, When I’m unable to predict the consequence. I try to pick myself up constantly, Put on a smile genuinely, Wear my heart back on my sleeve, Even though I want to give up and leave. Though it might look flawless from the outside, Only I know how lost I feel on the inside. I’m not perfect, I heartfully swear, ’Cause of that, I’m perfectly well-aware. It is tough, getting back up, When I do not know when what can come up, To weigh me down and crush me to the ground, Challenging me to help myself, with no one around. This learning and unlearning is continuous, At times, I am pushed to act spontaneous. But from all the broken glass pieces, I rise up like a mirrorball with a million faces. I will continue to figure out, Enjoy the process and be proud. This is my journey after all, I am only...

The Thirty First Poem- Scarring Ridicule

Scarring Ridicule This feeling of shame, Of feeling exposed and blamed, It haunts me, day and night, I no more know what’s wrong or right. I did it out of confidence, But they compared it to a reference, Saying, “This pictures you in this way, So fix this, ’cause you have no other way.” My feelings are not considered, I feel my freedom of expression hindered. They are making me paint myself differently, Did I give them power over me indefinitely? We are in the modern world, Empowering ourselves to be bold. And there is a way to communicate, Dragging someone down has never proved effective to date. Be intentional in making people feel loved, Even if you think their ways are flawed. Because you love them for who they are, Your ridicule of them should not cause a scar. They say time will heal anything, I say a loved one’s words are what truly bring The feeling of acceptance and comfort, And the knowledge that you will never judge them, no matter what. - Jaanvi Veluguleti

The Thirtieth Poem- As I Dream, So I Am

As I Dream, So I Am I am like the ocean bed, Where the water flows over me; But I tend to stay the same, Unchanged, unfazed, and unbiased. I am like the mountains, I stand tall, well I’m strong after all; I might be the mightiest of ’em all, Yet I still house the littlest of ’em all. I am like the woods, As deep as depth can go, as beautiful as beauty can be; I have what it takes to survive it all, ’Cause even when I shed off, I still spring back up. I am like the sky, Vast in my heart; standing as an endless canvas, Waiting to be painted with the brightest colours, The prettiest sight you would ever see. I am like the wind, Swift in my swag, eager to go places; Supporting life as I go around, Whilst enjoying my freedom, all by myself. I am like that quiet hill station, you see; Where you’ll find the solace you yearn for; I am quiet and pleasant, and full of life, Come, I’ll bring the peace you’re looking for. Well, I am whatever I wish to be, As beautiful as I desire to be, As genuine...

The Twenty Ninth Poem- Ardent Admiration

Ardent Admiration I see you with love in my eyes, I only want the best for you; Where are you from, to be that wise? You stand high in everyone’s eyes, and in mine too. You are an epitome of loyalty, I look up to you in everything I do; In my eyes, you will never lose your novelty, When I pray for myself, I pray for you too. You define success as though It is not a measure of trophies; But instead what you create out of what you undergo; And the way you do it, never less than a masterpiece. Please continue to shine your glow on me, I will always be rooting for you, my superstar; In every beautiful moment, it’s you I wish to see; By charming me and many others, you’ve set the highest bar. I’m your biggest admirer, I can’t wait to meet you, oh it’ll be so fun; How many ever fans you win over, I will always be your number one. - Jaanvi Veluguleti

The Twenty Eighth Poem- The Sky Shades

The Sky Shades Have you ever been overjoyed to look At the different facets of the sky? Oh, what question have I asked? Whenever hasn’t the sky ceased to amaze us? Mighty light blue sky, you’re seemingly so vast; You’re classically handsome; The clouds look the best on you, You’re a charming one, ask anyone, they’ll say it’s true. Orange sky, my bright, vibrant sky, You set the perfect stage for the Sun show; You are what my dreams are made of, And your warm friends, yellow and red add in their hues too. Dark grey sky, you are eerily dramatic; I could make up a gloomy story Just looking at you; I admire you for Giving me all the forlorn feels, for the drama I need. Purple sky, you are my favourite, You’re straight out of a fairytale; You’re the colour of magical illusions, You are the prettiest one I say. Navy blue sky, or the dark night sky, It’s like the Moon and the Stars were made just for you; You are the big blank canvas adorning these beauties, You bring in all the calmness and ...

The Twenty Seventh Poem- Who’s My True Friend?

Who’s My True Friend? Why are they mean? What did I do? Why don’t I feel seen? I’m surprised, cause this is new. Are they jealous of me? That I’m the best in my own unique ways? Or because I found the magic key That they’d been digging since the pharaoh days? Once we were the best of friends, Until suddenly the tables turned upside down; Leaving me unable to comprehend, Thinking if it was me who let them down. I try to hold them on to me, Wishing it would become the way ’twas before; But dear, they’re running away from me, So I give up, realising it’s not a score. I let them go and I refind peace; The insecurity I had previously Miraculously turns into ease; And I turn inside me lovingly. I sit with myself, With my hands wrapped around me, And willingly reassure myself, That no one’s my best friend than me. Sometimes that’s how I learn- I collect my floor-fallen pieces, Pick myself up and around I turn, And arduously try to think of happiness and roses. Sometimes that’s how my healing ...

The Twenty Sixth Poem- Calm After Storm

Calm After Storm It was at the end of the storm, When the night began to take form, That the clouds cleared up, And the stars showed up. When the rain descended, And the rainbow came and ended, The dust settled down everywhere, Everything became clear, and the sky became bare. ’Twas when my outburst happened, And I released all my emotions that had heightened, That the ache in my chest disappeared, And all the good things reappeared. My story’s been tragic off late, I had caged myself at a high rate; Now I want to fly past this rusted gate, It's time for a new tale on a fresh slate. Untangled, caught up in the mess, I made efforts to come out, but it was always worthless; ‘Twas only when I realised that it was all a protection, That I could clearly see every bit of the perfection. I realise nothing good comes from bottling up things, I oughta free them up and give them wings; Just let them fly, just let them flow, ’Cause I will know real peace only by letting them go.  -Jaanvi Velu...

The Twenty Fifth Poem- The Peace In Letting Go

The Peace In Letting Go May I be a little honest? Why do you put such pressure on yourself? When you are allowed to take a rest, And the rest will take care by itself? Carry on with it, with all your focus, Give your best, and then let it go; But please don’t let it make you serious, Just let it happen, just let it flow. Your worth doesn’t come from the outside, Not from external praise or validation. It has always been inside, Waiting to be recognised, far past your frustration. Take a risk and give it a shot, Then sit back and relax, and watch; After putting in all the effort you got, Maybe not in the way you intended, but you’ll always go up a notch. Controlling has never gotten us anywhere, It is past ages since we’ve learned this lesson. So I’m telling you this because I want to share, That letting go will give you far more peace, than any calming session. Look, wait, plan, and then start doing. But if it doesn’t go as per your plan, Just introspect and learn from the foregoing. T...

The Twenty Fourth Poem- Pause To Be Present

Pause To Be Present🤍 Switch up your priorities, Fall back into nature’s lap, Stop for a second and realise, That the world is yours to thrive. Set aside your deadlines, Pause all your activities; Sit for a moment in the calmness, Feel the moment’s joy and peace. Just stop the conversation, Be present in the silence; Listen to the Universe’s vibrations, ’Cause you, at that moment, will obtain the wisest solutions. Being present is the key to joy; The silence will give you happiness; ’Cause, you will know what to do, And you’ll be shown the way for you. Feel lucky to take time out for yourself, Societal contribution begins with the self. Dwell in the present and make its best, Just trust the process and forget the rest. Feel the Universe wrapping arms around you, Reminding you, “You are my sole heir, There’s nothing to worry about for you, Just be happy and I’ll do it for you.” Feel the joy in just being, Not doing, but just being here; Right at this moment, feel your heart beating. Rea...

The Twenty Third Poem- Holidays’ Reminiscence

Holidays’ Reminiscence I feel the boredom sinking in, The holidays are not quite how they used to be. There are no prizes or contests for me to win, It seems like the world has stopped for me. It was always a holiday thing, To wake up, even though a little late, And gather around with friends for playing; I cannot name better holiday moments to date. Until one day all of it went into oblivion, And gone were the days of games and fun, Of puzzles, hopscotch, and badminton; All these ancient joys mock back at me like a pun. Flashes of those moments still come to me, The songs, the scents, and the films of the holidays; There was no one to tell me how to be, And I still say, “Oh gosh! Those were the days!” I would collect shells from piles of sand, I would throw stones in little lakes, I would alertly wait for my grandma’s command, To open the oven and take out the cupcakes. Taking long strolls together, With no to-do lists in mind, Except for holiday homework to ruin the weather; These me...

The Twenty Second Poem- A Novice In Friendship

A Novice In Friendship I feel like an outsider; I want a company of pals. The thought of being the new one, Makes me feel dreadful. How should I talk? What should I say? Do they like me? Or are they simply tolerating me? What will it take, To be their friend? Should I lose myself, To become like them? I patiently try to find balance; Juggling with the right things to say, And protecting my peace of mind; Nevertheless, I hope to find a way. I respect them immensely, Cause they are undoubtedly amazing in their own way. But how to connect with them, and how to be with them, I don't know the sure shot way. So maybe I’ll just let the phase flow; Give up controlling and trying to be desperate; Cause I surely know for one, That the intentional ones will stay on forever. True friends, I will have so much to give them, Sunshine, hope, garden, and sunflowers. And I will have a lot to learn from them; And trust them, and love them, and be there for them. - Jaanvi Veluguleti

The Twenty First Poem- The Heart Ponderation

The Heart Ponderation💓 My heart says,  “ Come on, go on! ” But I am here, feeling unfledged to move my pawn. Are I and my heart one? If so, then different thoughts why do we churn? I want to do better, I want to be a trendsetter, But opposing thoughts enter Inside me, and try to take the stage centre. This is like a crossword puzzle, Not having a clue how to overcome this hustle; But just like how the letters of one word become parts of another, I hope all the puzzle pieces on my life’s board fit together. Are I and my heart one? This is a question I’ve been pondering on and on. Please show me the real one, Let me know who to follow and then be done. Breathless, this thought is taking up all my energy, All my parts are trying to work to maintain the synergy. But seems like it’s a choice I have to make, Hence, I choose my heart, whatever it may take. Slowly I start to gain my breath, And maybe what’s slowly developing is faith. My energy is growing, and glowing, untouched; This is ...

The Twentieth Poem- Discovering Destinations

Discovering Destinations🌄 Universe! Show me those places, Where no one has been before, Tell me, ’cause I want to explore, Are there still places humans have not touched? Let me leave everything and get on A magical journey to a land newfound; Then pause there, and let the beauty sink in; Feel in my veins, the pureness and the calmness of the wonder therein. It’s so gratifying to realise that There are places the world wants me to see; Asking me to unlock the gates, Then get in, and run, rent-free. I feel a welcome fuelled by warmth, By the elements of these spaces; Seeing these places, I revel in awe, That there’s no dearth in nature whatsoever. I think that lucky are those, Wise enough to relish such explorations; And experience the nature firsthand, What it’s like to be where no one has stepped before. There are always places no one’s been to before, Wait till you visit them, then you’ll be sure. You most certainly will be dazzled too, Thinking, “What took me so long to come to you...

The Nineteenth Poem- Breathless For Breakthrough

😢Breathless For Breakthrough🚣 Can I trust myself, To get me out of here? Or do I need to ask for help? 'Cause I am bound in fear. I am awfully stuck in this, Feels like it will be forever. I cannot see through this, I desperately want it to be over. Silently expecting help, But trying not to be desperate; With no one to lean on but myself, I painfully and patiently tolerate. Why is it so difficult to ask for help? Is it ’cause of my reputation? I know I'll never be able to help myself, And what if I get frozen in this situation? OK! I cannot take it anymore, I am giving up and coming out, Wherever it goes furthermore, I hope it will be a better turnout. So I step out of my self-built walls, This is what courage must feel like, Whatever it takes, wherever I fall, I hope my legend will be praised at the wake. Hence, silent steps I take through the dark tunnel, With a ray of hope towards the unknown glow; To find at the end of it, an endless canal Of everything I’d wanted; so ...

The Eighteenth Poem- Letter To My Best Friend

🧧 Letter To My Best Friend💛 “My dear best friend, Our friendship is a beautiful tale. Our love will be perennial till the end, It will forever continue to sail. I will remember the care you showed me, In random and in planned ways. I can talk anything with you and be free, Times with you are sunshine-filled days. My short best friend with a lovely smile, And eyes like stars that sparkle so bright. You’re the cutest pal with an admirable sense of style, I’m grateful for your love and your shining light. Moments with you are books of laughter, Fun times, late nights, and crazy talk. Party times were something else altogether, Our friends and we are perfectly fit folk. We created countless memories, We shared bittersweet experiences, We celebrated each other’s glories, Despite our circumstances, we will continue to take more such chances. Thank you for always being my true friend, Thank you for letting me be yours, Thank you for being a part of my life till the end, Thank you for painti...

The Seventeenth Poem- Plethoric Perturbations

👤Plethoric Perturbations😨 Have you ever experienced, Something you didn't know, Until you went on with it, unhinged, And finally uncovered it with the flow? Is it right to ask yourself, Or anyone else, if you're worth it? Or are you strong enough to believe in yourself, To tell yourself you can do it? Does it really matter if it is small or big, As long as it’s a wish to be fulfilled? Your eyes break tears like you break a twig, Your whims change suddenly, and then most of them stay unfulfilled. Is it all that happens in the background, The things that no one knows about? That reflects as your reality in the foreground, While ignorant heads turning to ask, “What’s all the chaos about?” Could you care less when you are not okay? Or need you still pretend to have a pleasing face? “Why are you behaving that way?” is all they say, When it's only for the moment you want to keep a straight face. Are fragments of clarity all that you want, To put together the pieces of your me...

The Sixteenth Poem- Magic and Myself

✨ Magic and Myself⋆ I am a grateful being Born out of Magic dust. Here I'm writing what I'm realising, My power, my purpose that came from the stardust. I used to be an ordinary being from core; Then I discovered my magic blessed by the divine force. Now I don't want anything more, Than to help you discover the abundant share of magic that's yours. Now come again near me, And I will give you some of my Magic, raw and pure; My endless flow of love like the endless sea, Will embrace you to give you the sweetest cure. I cannot wait to turn the tables, To sprinkle my magic wherever I go. My story will be told in history books, tales, and fables, About my heartwarming deeds and my beautiful soul. Maybe I'm an old soul who loves old things; It's magic, so I am not quite sure. Or maybe I'm one with a contemporary heart that sings, Either way, I know I am a pioneer who's pure. My magic lives inside me, It is felt as I walk through the doors. A heart full of go...

The Fifteenth Poem- Silent Night in Moonlight

🌕 Silent Night in Moonlight🌃 Just sitting down here in my pyjamas,  With cool breeze and solemn silence brushing past my ears, From my balcony, I look up; I gaze at the night sky, simply awestruck. With a halo of white light The Moon is the King of the night. Oh I'm not even kidding, When I say I could just stare at it all night. With its perfect round shape, And its pearly white face, The brightest sight in the ebony night; Take me to the Moon and I might stay there for a while. Thinking about the weird silence, I ask myself: “What is this dark night hiding behind all the quiet? Why is it so peaceful to look at the sky? Why do these stars and this Moon look enchanting to me?” Though I don't intend to find any logical answers, And also wonder if my questions are rhetorical; I'm still curious to uncover even the irrational answers, While I stare away at this unmatched perfection. A while goes by and then, Right there I find, amidst all the silence, Truth basking in the cro...
